Terms of Service

1. Who can use StudySpine

StudySpine is built for K-12 learners using it with a parent, guardian, or teacher. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian (or your school) must agree to these terms for you and supervise your use. Adults who let a child use StudySpine accept these terms for that child.

2. Use of the service

StudySpine provides K-12 curriculum content and practice assessments for personal, educational, non-commercial use. Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, or use it to violate the law or the rights of others.

3. The AI tutor

The AI tutor is not currently available.

4. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we handle and our commitments for children and students. It is part of these terms.

5. Our content

StudySpine lessons, assessments, and software belong to MLN Learning LLC or its licensors. You may use them for personal, homeschool, or classroom teaching. Do not copy them in bulk, resell them, or republish them as your own. Some 3D models are used under Creative Commons licenses listed on our 3D Credits page.

Study Kit (kit.studyspine.org and its downloadable offline edition) is part of StudySpine and is covered by these terms. Its software is also licensed under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, which allows free personal, family, school and classroom use; commercial use needs a separate license from MLN Learning LLC.

6. No warranty; limits on liability

StudySpine is provided as is, without promises that it will be accurate, complete, or always available. To the extent the law allows, and only for adult users, MLN Learning LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and its total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law that cannot be waived, and nothing here asks a minor to waive any right.

SAT is a trademark of the College Board; ACT is a trademark of ACT Education Corp.; CogAT is a trademark of Riverside Assessments, LLC; NNAT is a trademark of NCS Pearson, Inc.; Naglieri General Ability Tests (NGAT) is a trademark of Multi-Health Systems Inc. StudySpine is not affiliated with or endorsed by these organizations or any state education agency. Practice items are original and are not official test forms.

8. Feedback

If you send feedback, you let us use it to improve StudySpine without owing you anything. Do not include personal information about a child in feedback.

9. Suspension

We may limit or end access for anyone who misuses the service.

10. Who runs StudySpine

StudySpine is operated by MLN Learning LLC, a Virginia limited liability company.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought only in the state courts located in Chesterfield County, Virginia, or the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its effective date. If a change is material, we will show a notice on the site before it takes effect.
