Worked examples
Model ItI do
A graph shows 5 apples and 3 bananas. Which fruit has more?
Count each row: 5 apples and 3 bananas. Since 5 is more than 3, the apple row has more.
Try It TogetherWe do
Using the same graph, how many more apples than bananas are there?
There are 5 apples and 3 bananas. Take away 3 from 5 to compare: 5 minus 3 is 2. There are 2 more apples.
